Fratres | Performance

Fratres: A meditative performance for two performers and a violinist based on the composition Fratres by Arvo Pärt.

A closed dark room. 9 spectators are invited at a turn to take place on chairs in a circle. A man, laying the middle, is covered by a long scarf with LED lights. The woman wraps the scarf around the spectators. Connected by its luminescence, the spectators become one single body of light. The violinist plays Fratres by Arvo Pärt, walking around the space and standing behind single persons for each segment of the composition. One LED is placed at the end of his bow. Once the compositions is finished, the woman unwraps the scarf from the spectators. They lead them to exit offering a crystal-prism.

  1. *I could compare my music to white light which contains all colors. Only a prism can divide the colors and make them appear; this prism could be the spirit of the listener.
