The two-channel video parallels the Rub’ al Khali desert in Abu Dhabi and the Arctic polar desert in Svalbard. As terrains of strategic geopolitical value, ecoregional vulnerability, and sites of resource, social, and cultural exploitation, they bring bodies to face processes of melting and unsustainability in the form of a ‘porous tense’.
